07:14 am on 11 August 2012

Chad Soper is still a new face in the Papua New Guinea set-up but says he already feels at home ahead of the Under 19 Cricket World Cup, which starts this morning.

The pace bowler was born in PNG but moved to Australia when he was one.

He made his debut for the PNG senior team in a one-day series late last month and will l, after picking up five wickets in a recent warm-up match, says he hopes to continue that form with the Under 19s.

"It's good to get some rhythm now and hopefully I can continue getting some good decks and being able to get some wickets for the boys and just bowling tight lines, because that's the key for our team is to bowl tight and just restrict the runs and just scrounge as many runs as we can when we bat."

PNG's first match is against Zimbabwe in Townsville.
