Mr Netanyahu said the Fiji trip will take place in the framework of his planned visit to Singapore and Australia in February.

No sitting Israeli prime minister has ever visited any of these countries.

Mr Netanyahu said 15 countries will be at the Fiji meeting and each of them has a vote at the UN.

His announcement comes just days after Fiji's prime minister Frank Bainimarama visited Israel.

Traditionally, only the Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia, along with the US, always vote with Israel.
