Mega-producer DJ Mustard is heading our way for shows in Christchurch and Auckland next March.
The LA-based musician, born Dijon McFarlane, has dominated radio over the past few years with a signature sound he describes as “ratchet music” – an approach that’s built on 808 kicks, tireless handclaps and eerie synths. He was behind the boards of Tyga’s ‘Rack City’, Big Sean’s ‘I Don’t F*ck With You’ and Tinashe’s ‘2 On’, and is also known for his extensive work with YG, Ty Dolla $ign and Kid Ink. Check the playlists saved on your phone: he’s likely responsible for half of what’s there.
Last year also saw the release of his self-produced debut record 10 Summers, which featured appearances from Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz. The tour will mark his first visit to New Zealand as well.
