Power restored on North Shore after car hits power pole

One person has died after a car collided with a power pole in Auckland's North Shore Saturday morning.

Power has been restored more than 1000 households which lost it after the accident.

Residents in Belmont, Hauraki and Takapuna were affected by an outage after the car collided with a power pole just before 6am this morning.

Two people were rescued following the crash on Lake Road, near Hororata Road in Hauraki, Fire and Emergency said.

Police said the crash is under investigation.
