Peter Rasmussen homicide: Police appeal for info over vehicle of interest

Police have appealed for information over the movements of a car following the death of Auckland pensioner Peter Rasmussen, shot dead at his home in August.

This afternoon, Counties Manukau Police released details of a vehicle of interest in relation to the incident.

Police believe the car - a Silver Ford Falcon 2004 sedan - was stolen from Papakura on 20 August. They seeking information from anyone who may have information about the movements of the vehicle following the killing, or its current whereabouts.

Detective Inspector Chris Barry said the homicide inquiry into the 75-year-old's death at his Ōtāhuhu home on 22 August was making progress and that police were confident of holding those responsible to account.

"A large team are still working on this investigation and have spoken to numerous people in order to establish the circumstances leading up to Peter's death," he said.
