The Hurricanes demolished Moana Pasifika 71-22 in Super Rugby Pacific in a high scoring match in Wellington for the bonus point win.
Hurricanes captain Ardie Savea led by example scoring three of the Wellington side's 11 tries.
The Hurricanes took a 29-19 lead into the break before a dominant second half display pushed the scoreline into the stratosphere.
Savea said the win was a relief after last weekend's shock loss to Fijian Drua in Suva.
"I'm proud of the boys' effort tonight. We knew what Moana would bring today after last week," Savea said.
"I'm just happy the boys bounced back from last week."
The Hurricanes move into second on the standings with the bonus point, with further clashes during the round to be factored in.
Moana Pasifika crossed the line for three tries and were in the game during the first half, but unforced errors didn't help their cause.
Next week the Wellington side take on the Chiefs in Hamilton while Moana Pasifika host the Crusaders in Auckland.
