Vanuatu's director of livestock and small animals, Lonny Bong, has appealed to communities to respect breeding centres set up around the country.
The Daily Post reported the director saying thieves broke in and stole cattle and ducks from the Tagabe Agriculture Training and Breeding Centre.
Mr Bong said the breeding centres were set up to help farmers boost the quality of their cattle, and to breed small animals such as goats, sheep, ducks and chickens to help Vanuatu achieve food security.
