SPREP increasing member fees

The Pacific Regional Environment Programme, SPREP, needs more money and an agreement has been tentatively reached to increase contributions from member countries.

The agency's members met last week in Apia and agreed on a strategic plan through to 2026.

They have recommended a 20 per cent increase in contributions, which needs the approval of member governments.

The meeting also directed the secretariat to continue to work with members which have not paid their contributions in full.
