NSW win Australian domestic Twenty20 title

17:40 pm on 25 January 2009

New South Wales have ended Victoria's stranglehold on the Australian domestic Twenty20 cricket competition, recording a thrilling five-wicket victory on the final ball in Sydney.

With scores level and NSW needing one run off the final delivery, Ben Rohrer failed to get bat on ball but scampered through for a single as the Blues reached 167 for five in response to Victoria's 166 for four.

The New Zealander Brendon McCullum, who caused a stir this week after signing for NSW, made just 10 from 11 balls.
