Police have named a 6-year-old boy who died when two vehicles collided on State Highway One on New Year's Day.
He was 6-year-old Myka Tuala of Wellington.
Five others were injured - one critically - in the accident, which closed down the main highway for several hours on Friday afternoon.
Police said their enquiries into the collision were ongoing, and their thoughts were with the boy's family.
