Three people have been taken into custody in West Auckland after allegedly stealing a car and failing to stop for police.
Police received a report of three men wearing masks and acting suspiciously in a vehicle on Maple Street, Avondale, around 11.20am on Saturday.
The vehicle was confirmed to have been stolen and was sighted travelling on Rosebank Road onto Great North Road around 11.40pm.
The vehicle was followed with the assistance of the Eagle helicopter and was tracked to LynnMall where the vehicle was abandoned around 11.50am.
Three people were taken into custody at LynnMall and charges are being considered.
