A mouthwash product sold through dentists is being recalled after potentially harmful micro-organisms were found.

The Savacol Antiseptic Mouth and Throat rinse 300ml white bottle product, has been sold through dentists since last year, and is being recalled as a precaution.

Colgate-Palmolive says micro-organisms, which can cause health problems to people with poor health, have been detected.

The recall is being done in consultation with Medsafe and the Ministry of Health.
