Azaria's father wants apology

06:34 am on 11 July 2012

Michael Chamberlain has called for an apology from Australia's Northern Territory Government for its handling of the death of his daughter Azaria.

A fourth coronial inquest ruled that a dingo or dingoes were responsible for the death of the nine-week-old baby near Uluru (Ayers Rock) in 1980.

The findings, delivered in May, brought the 32-year saga to a close, the BBC reports.

While his former wife Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton has said she will not be pursuing an apology, Mr Chamberlain says he wants answers.

The Northern Territory Government says its position to not issue an apology remains the same.
