Fact: Life is busy - and cruel! - so sometimes you need to ignore it completely in exchange for extended periods of biscuits in bed, your laptop, and Lena Dunham.
And now, finally, the ubiquity of the practice has been formally acknowledged, with the term 'binge-watch' scooping the 2015 Collins British Dictionary’s word of the year.
Just as well, because excessive viewing has been found to reduce stress, boost dopamine and level out the heart rate. (That was totally made up, but probably true.)
