A spokesperson for some of the families of people who died in the CTV building collapse says he's frustrated with how long it's taking to erect an official earthquake memorial.
The families have been briefed by the Government on the process of designing and finding a place for the memorial.
Spokesperson Peter Brown says nearly three years on from the February 2011 quake, it's a shame designs still have to be created and no site has been chosen.
He says officials at the meeting told them the memorial will be finished by 2016 at the latest.
Mr Brown says having a place to visit is hugely important for people who lost loved ones, especially those visiting from overseas.
