Killer to finish sentence on bail

New Zealand's youngest convicted killer will continue to finish his sentence on bail.

Bailey Junior Kurariki was last month recalled to prison while on parole for suspected drug use in breach of conditions, but was released by the High Court.

At a parole board hearing on Monday, the board said he would remain on parole until his sentence ended on 16 September.

Kurariki is still required to abide by his conditions for a further six months after that date.

Kurariki was convicted of the manslaughter of Michael Choy. Mr Choy's mother, Rita Croskery, says she is disappointed but not surprised by the board's decision.
