Financial Service Complaints is cutting its annual fees by 10% for the next financial year.

The reduction means members will pay between $31 - $1500 less, depending on the scale of their business.

FISCL is one of four dispute resolution schemes in the industry with participants including financial advisers, brokers, lenders, insurers and fund managers.

All financial services providers are required by law to be members of an approved dispute resolution scheme. The service is free for consumers.

Chief executive Susan Taylor said growth of 10% in members in the last year gave the scheme a cash surplus of $300,000.

She said the reduction is a one-off but FSCL is now reviewing its fee categories and case fees.
