McCartney vaulted 4.82 metres, adding one centimetre to Australian Alana Boyd's record and two centimetres to her own national record.

It's also a world leading mark in 2017.

Meanwhile, American Ryan Crouser won the men's shot put with a throw of 22.15 metres.

The Olympic champion threw four of his six efforts out over 22 metres.

New Zealander Tom Walsh was second with a best of 21.8 metres, a season best.

Jacko Gill was third.
