New Zealand coxless pair Eric Murray and Hamish Bond are through to the finals at the World Rowing Champs on Lake Karapiro.

The pair won the semi-final by about one-and-a-half boat lengths from the British pair, with the Italian crew third. All three go through to the final on Saturday afternoon.

The women's single sculler, Emma Twigg, is through to the final, as are the men's eight, which came second in a tight repechage.

The women's eight has failed to qualify.

The last two semi-finals for New Zealand will be on Friday, featuring lightweight single sculler Duncan Grant and double scullers Nathan Cohen and Joseph Sullivan.
