Thousands of people marched up Queen Street in Auckland on Saturday protesting against a host of issues including partial sales of state owned assets.
The protestors are part of a hikoi that began on Tuesday at Cape Reinga and will finish in Wellington.
Protestors waved banners and flags during the march to Aotea Square, chanting slogans such as 'Aotearoa is not for sale' and 'stand up fight back'.
A spokesperson says the march, which included members of the Labour and Mana parties and a number of unions, was in opposition to a range of issues including asset sales, fracking, deep sea oil drilling and seabed mining.
Labour Party leader David Shearer urged people to sign a citizen-initiated petition to force a referendum against asset sales.
