New Zealand's Minister for Pacific Peoples says investment in the region's health systems is a key component of his country's so-called Pacific Reset.
Speaking at the opening of the Polynesia - New Zealand Health Dialogue in Auckland, Aupito William Sio welcomed Health Ministers and clinicians from the Cook Islands, Niue, Tokelau, Samoa, Tonga and Tuvalu.
Many of the region's countries are plagued by frequent drug shortages.
Aupito said New Zealand was putting aid money into maternal and child health, fighting communicable and non-communicable diseases, and improving access to clean water and safe sanitation systems.
