The Silver Ferns coach Wai Taumaunu is encouraged by the performances of her younger players in the Fastnet World Series in Liverpool.
The Ferns failed to record 3 straight wins in the series after going down 33-26 to England in the final.
The side included a couple of 20 year olds and Taumaunu says Sulu Tone-Fitzpatrick played very well in the semi-final win over Jamaica.
She says a tournament like this does give her the chance to experiement a bit with players.
Taumaunu says she's really enjoyed the role since taking over from Ruth Aiten, but admits losing both of her outings in charge is disappointing.
