Good results for All Whites in England

The New Zealand striker Chris Wood has found the net yet again for his new English Championship football side Millwall.

Wood scored Milwall's third goal with a deflected strike in the Lions' 4-1 romp at Nottingham Forest, which extends their unbeaten run to seven league games.

Fellow All Whites international Tommy Smith's Ipswich Town won their first game in 13, with new manager Mick McCarthy seemingly having an instant impact - but even with the 1-0 victory at Birmingham, the Tractor Boys remain rooted to the bottom of the second-tier Championship.

Winston Reid's West Ham held the Premiership champions Manchester City to a 0-0 draw at Upton Park.

Back in the Championship and Henning Berg's debut as Blackburn manager ended in a disappointing defeat as promotion rivals Crystal Palace cruised to a 2-0 home victory.

Third-placed Palace were also sporting a new manager - though Ian Holloway's arrival as successor to Dougie Freedman was confirmed just hours before kick-off and the former Blackpool boss Holloway watched from the stands, before officially taking charge on Monday

Sean Dyche's reign as Burnley manager also got off to a fine start with a 2-0 home win against Wolves.

With leaders Cardiff beaten 2-1 at Bolton in Saturday's late game, Middlesbrough seized the chance to move level on points at the top by thrashing Charlton 4-1 at the Valley.

Elsewhere, promotion hopefuls Leicester slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Watford, while Hull remain in the play-off places after a 1-0 win over Barnsley.

Without Holloway, managerless Blackpool crashed to a 4-1 defeat at Derby, Huddersfield beat second bottom Bristol City 1-0 and Sheffield Wednesday defeated fellow strugglers Peterborough 2-1.
