Teenagers still in critical condition after crash

Two teenage boys remain in a critical condition after a two-car vehicle crash in Waikato yesterday.

Emergency services were called to a collision between a campervan and a car at Mangateparu Loop Road near Morrinsville yesterday morning.

The Waikato District Health Board said a 12-year-old remains in Waikato Hospital's Intensive Care Unit, while a 19-year-old male is also in a serious but stable condition in the High Dependency Unit.

A 59-year-old woman is in a stable condition and three others hurt in the crash have been discharged.

The Auckland District Health Board said a 13-year-old boy, who was transferred to Starship Hospital yesterday, is in a critical but stable condition.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating the cause.
