Police in Auckland have launched a homicide investigation into the shooting of a man found lying in a driveway on Sunday night.
The man, believed to be middle-aged, was found with chest injuries outside a house in Tullis Place in the suburb of Botany Downs just before 8pm. He died later in hospital.
Police are trying to find the people who were in the house but have been unable to locate them. Detective Inspector Mark Gutry says whoever shot the man is likely to have known him.
Police also say they have found a gun but cannot confirm if it was the weapon used.
