The stallion Terror To Love has failed to make trotting history after finishing fourth in the New Zealand Cup at Addington in Christchurch.
Aiming for a record fourth consecutive New Zealand Cup win, Terror To Love lead the field into the home straight before be overhauled by the winning mare Adore Me.
The New Zealand sport's betting agency the TAB says turnover for the Cup race was around $1.8 million.
It says there were approximately 154,000 bets placed on the race including a $5,000 bet on the winner which yielded $42,500.
Adore Me was paying $8.50 for the win.
