Police are investigating an unexplained death of a person on a Christchurch street this morning.

Police were called to Opawa Road in Christchurch at about 8.30am.
The body is now covered by a white sheet at the side of the road and police officers and photographers are examining the area.
Cordons are in place on Opawa Road.
Police want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the death.
