The A-League football club Sydney FC have sacked coach Frank Farina.
The club's Chairman Scott Barlow announced the decision after a meeting of the A-League club's board on Wednesday.
The move comes after Sydney FC scraped into the finals in fifth place and were eliminated by Melbourne Victory in their first post-season clash.
Farina had been at the helm since taking over from Ian Crook during the first half of last season.
He was Sydney FC's seventh full-time coach since the inaugural 2005-06 A-League season.
Farina reportedly had a clause in his contract which meant he could be sacked if the Sky Blues failed to make the top four this season.
