Police are searching for a person who stabbed a man in a central Auckland carpark early this morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Armstrong said the man was taken to hospital with serious, but not life threatening, injuries.
Police were called to the Anzac Ave carpark shortly at 2.20am.
Armstrong said the person had fled. The Eagle helicopter and ground staff were involved in a search but could not locate them.
"At this point we believe an altercation has taken place between two parties known to each other," Armstrong said.
