A study planning to interview 250 family members of the Christchurch mosque shooting victims, has received a funding grant of close to $100,000.

The money from the Canterbury Medical Research Foundation was made up of public donations.
It will be used to talk to family members about the psychological and physical impact of caring for victims.
Lead researcher Dr Ruqayya Sulaiman-Hill said initial interviews with victims indicated the experience of being in the two mosques was highly traumatic, as many thought they were about to die.
She said they wanted to understand what the long term impacts would be on those living with survivors.
