Costs rise for sheep, beef farmers

Sheep and beef farmers have had to contend with increased costs in the past year.

The latest Beef and Lamb New Zealand on-farm inflation report shows a 1.1 percent rise in farm input costs in the past year, after a slight fall the previous year.

It said the biggest contributor to that was increases in bank interest and local and central government rates and fees, partly offset by lower fuel prices.
