New Zealand Windfarms says it lost $6.5 million in the six months to the end of December, which included a $6.3 million writedown of its assets.

The company earned $2.6 million in the same period a year earlier.

It says it has delayed its plans to raise funds to expand its Te Rere Hau wind farm, due to a dispute with its turbine supplier.
