Steel company to increase prices

18:11 pm on 25 February 2010

Pacific Steel Group is increasing the prices of some of its products by between 7% and 9% in line with international steel prices.

General manager Ian Jones says the cost is compounded by a weaker New Zealand dollar.

Mr Jones says demand for steel products in China and in the United States, as well as rising iron ore prices, is pushing up steel prices.
