A fire at a government's research and development agency in Lower Hutt has been put out.
Fire and emergency said crews were still on site at Callaghan Innovation dampening down hot spots.
At its height nine trucks were battling the blaze that started in the roof of the building about 2.15pm today.
It then moved into other parts of the building.
Staff were evacuated for the rest of the day, and no injuries have been reported.
Firefighters were working with staff and public health officials to contain any hazardous material.
