A police superintended in Fiji has been convicted of a corruption-related offence.

The FBC reports that Pita Keni was found guilty in the Nadi Magistrates Court of one count of "failing to render assistance."

He was found not guilty of a second charge of resisting or obstructing officers.

The charge was brought by the Independent Commission Against Corruption.

It said that Keni, as a superintendent, refused to provide the commission with information that was relevant to a bribery case against a former acting inspector, Timoci Naulu.
