Niue sports administrators Tony Edwards and Sidney Lui have been elected to lead the Oceania Regional Powerlifting Federation for the next four years.
The two were elected at the Federation's general conference held in Honiara on the sideline of the 2023 Pacific Games on Monday.
Edwards was elected president while Lui is the new secretary general.
The election also saw Edwards been given a seat as an executive board member on the International Powerlifting Federation.
He is also currently the president for Niue Powerlifting Federation.
Edwards told RNZ Pacific that he was thrilled to lead.
"Oceania is ours. We need to take ownership of it," he said.
"I am humble to be elected as the new president, not just for Oceania but also as an IPF executive member."
Lui, who is also currently the secretary general for Niue Powerlifting and Niue Island Sports Commonwealth Games Association, said it was a plus for Niue Powerlifting.
"I look forward to the next four years," she said.
"I look forward to work with my Oceania family to develop the sport.
"This is an absolute achievement for the Niue Federation having successfully delivered an Oceania Powerlifting tournament earlier on this year," she added.
The duo will be hoping that good news will translate to some medals for their powerlifting team at the Games.
The Pacific Games powerlifting competition starts on Tuesday.
