The family of a four-year-old girl missing for almost six hours in rural Northland are relieved she's been found safe and well.

Police said she had last been seen in the Arapohue area near Dargaville.
The girl's family and friends had been trying to find her since 2.45pm this afternoon, in the Arapohue area, they said.
Search and Rescue, the Fire Service, and two helicopters also took part in the search and found the girl just before 9pm.
