A man in his 80s and three women have been convicted and discharged in an Auckland court for obstructing police in relation to the killing of a security guard.

Ramandeep Singh was found dead in Royal Reserve park in Massey on 18 December, 2023.

Two men, aged 26 and 17, were charged with his murder soon afterwards.

Singh, who was 25 when he died, moved to Auckland from India in 2018 and had been working as a contractor for Armourguard.

A police spokesperson confirmed to RNZ that three women, aged 55, 40 and 25, and an 82-year-old man all appeared in Waitākere District Court on Thursday morning on charges of obstructing police.

The spokesperson said all four were convicted and discharged.
