Eight Iraqi soldiers have been killed in a bomb blast in the northern province of Diyala.
Officials say the soldiers were killed during a raid on a house in the town of Sadiya north-east of the provincial capital Baquba.
The BBC reports four others were wounded.
The blast comes a day after six people were killed in attacks across the country, including two members of an American-funded militia group and two policemen.
Violence has spiked in recent weeks, ahead of a withdrawal of US troops due to be completed by the end of the month.
