The support co-ordinator for Northland farmers says there's been an amazing response from the rest of the country in the wake of last week's storm.
Farmers and contractors from other parts of the country have been sending Northland farmers extra feed for their livestock.
Julie Jonker of the Northland Rural Support Trust said six truck and trailor loads of feed were on the way to the area to help farmers whose pasture remained under water.
However, she said with so many paddocks still submerged it was likely farmers were going to need to keep using supplementary feed for the forseeable future.
"I'm sure farmers are going to find that they are going to need feed to keep some of their cows off their paddocks to get the grass to recover."
