Man pleads guilty to 1995 murder of Angela Blackmoore

A Christchurch man has pleaded guilty to the murder 24 years ago of Christchurch woman Angela Blackmoore.

Jeremy Powell, 45, pleaded guilty at the High Court in Christchurch this morning.

Angela Blackmoore was killed in her Wainoni home in August 1995.

Her partner was out at the time, but her two-year-old son was asleep in the house.

Her son was not injured.

Blackmoore was 10 weeks pregnant when she was stabbed 39 times in her head and neck.

Powell will be sentenced in April.

A 47-year-old woman who is also charged with Angela Blackmoore's murder has pleaded not guilty.
