Britain has a new leader of the Conservative Party and from tomorrow a new Prime Minister, almost two months after Boris Johnson announced he would step down.

Sir Graham Brady announced Liz Truss had won the tussle for leadership of the Conservative Party, with fifty-four point seven per cent of the vote, and over Rishi Sunak's received 42.6 percent.

Sir Graham announced the results of the Tory leadership contest to party members at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster.

Truss has a history as a staunch supporter of Boris Johnson, but in her student days was outspokenly left-leaning.
