The Waigani National Court in Papua New Guinea has found the Western Province governor Ati Wobiro guilty of conspiring to misappropriate provincial funds.
Wobiro's co-accused, the provincial administrator Modowa Gumoi, and the chief of the Fly Care Foundation, Norman Carl May, were also convicted.
PNG Loop reports they were found guilty of having conspired in establishing the Fly Care Foundation three years ago with US$2.3 million dollars in funding from the provincial government.
The Court found that the trio bypassed all the processes required under the Finance Management Act.
