Pacific libraries have key role in helping implement SDGs

06:00 am on 4 June 2018

Libraries can play a key role to help ensure the success of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals in the Pacific.

The SDGs focus on poverty reduction, peace and environmental protection.

The message about the SDGs was a key factor in meetings last week in Suva which brought Pacific librarians and library stakeholders together.

Christine Mackenzie, who is about to become president of the International Federation of Library Associations spoke with Don Wiseman about the SDGs and other matters critical to libraries.

She began by acknowledging some Pacific countries did not have libraries at all.
