The funeral for Fa'anānā Efeso Collins will be held in Auckland on Thursday.

Fa'anānā, 49, collapsed and died during a charity event in the Auckland CBD on Wednesday.

His family say the Green MP will be at the Tipene Funeral Home from Monday to Wednesday.

In their first statement since his death, his aiga - which includes wife Fia and daughters Kaperiela and Asalemo - said he was "the anchor of our tight-knit family".

"Anyone who knew Efeso, knew that his daughters were at the heart of everything he did. They were his inspiration and drive," they said.

Politicians are invited to pay their respects on Monday but everyone is welcome to view.

The funeral service will take place at the Due Drops Events Centre in Manukau from midday on Thursday.

Road management plans are being made as a large turnout is expected on all days.
