Two men charged after firearms, drugs and cash found in property searches

Counties Manukau police have arrested two men and seized methamphetamine, four firearms and cash while executing search warrants on properties in Manurewa today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Kepal Richards said officers from the Counties Manukau organised crime unit also recovered ammunition and some cannabis during the operation.

A 32-year-old man has been charged with supplying methamphetamine.

A 26-year-old man is facing firearms-related charges as well as assault and wilful damage charges following an investigation into a firearms incident on Christmas Road, in Manurewa in December.

Both men were due to appear in the Manukau District Court today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Richard said more charges were likely.
