A 52-year-old man is due to appear in the Auckland District Court today after a car with a baby inside was stolen this month.
A vehicle was taken from a Whangārei petrol station forecourt on Manu Road with a young baby inside on 6 May.
Police later found it abandonded with the child safely inside.
A man was arrested this week in Auckland by off-duty police.
He was charged in connection with the theft with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, unlawfully taking a motor vehicle and failing to stop.
