Milestones of change

08:10 am on 1 October 2014

For my 24th birthday, my parents were generous enough to buy me ticket down to Christchurch to hang out with them. I moved to Wellington when I was 18 to study theatre and start drinking coffee, and I now live in Auckland, but I still consider Christchurch to be my home.

I was fortunate enough to have avoided both of the major earthquakesI love experiencing how much the city has changed every time I visit. The mammoth walks I go for around the CBD (I still don’t have my licence so it’s kind of out of necessity) give me an opportunity to reflect on my home town's identity, as well as who I am in relation to it.
