Pedestrian dies after collision in Canterbury

A pedestrian hit by a vehicle on State Highway 1 on Monday afternoon in Canterbury has died, police have confirmed.

Diversions remain in place and motorists are asked to avoid the Woodend area and expect delays.

SH1 was closed following the collision, reported to police at 1.40pm.

The road has since reopened.
