Papua New Guinea's tourism minister has obtained leave for a judicial review of the decision of the leadership tribunal dismissing him from office.

Boka Kondra, who is the member for North Fly, was told he had an arguable and serious case.

Kondra was found guilty in April of six counts of misconduct in office for misappropriating district funds to the tune of over 72 thousand US dollars.

The acting judge, Justice Leka Nablu, based her decision on the fact that payments made from the North Fly District Treasury accounts were paid by the Administrator, not Kondra.

The decision effectively grants a stay on Kondra's dismissal until the court deals with the review, which will be heard on Monday.
